Our VisionOur Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy, with the support and assistance of the Church, the Diocese, and the Office of Catholic Schools, will continue to be the educational choice of this community. This is reflected in our students, who achieve exemplary academic standards, live by the Gospel values, display strong character, and positively contribute to their communities and humanity. Because of the strong involvement of the parents, parishioners, and the community-at-large, our school will continue to be strengthened and students will continue to prosper. |

Our Philosophy“All men of every race, condition and age, since they enjoy the dignity of a human being, have an inalienable right to education that is in keeping with their ultimate goal, their ability, their sex, their culture and tradition. For a true education aims at the formation of the human person in pursuit of his ultimate end and of the good of the societies of which as man, he is a member, and in whose obligations, as an adult, he will share.” (Declaration of Christian Education. The Documents of Vatican 11. St. Paul Edition p. 236) In keeping with the above statement from the Declaration of Christian Education, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy strives to prepare the students by challenging them to extend themselves fully in all their capacities, thus enhancing their spiritual, intellectual, cultural, emotional, social and physical growth. Recognizing that each person is unique, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy assists parents in the education of their children by helping each student develop personal faith, habits of prayer, knowledge, skills, self-respect, concern for others, love for country, ideals, and values, which will enable them to be responsible members of the community. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy adheres strictly to the Roman Catholic Christian Philosophy of Education. Our doors are open to all children. ACADEMIC INFORMATION Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy focuses on Early Childhood Education and serves students in Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten. Research tells us that the early years of children’s lives are sensitive periods when their brain peaks for learning and they are most receptive for learning emotional control, for forming attachments to others, and acquiring language and music skills. The teaching staff will use developmentally appropriate lessons, centers, and creative playful activities to instruct our students. Students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten are instructed daily in the following subjects:
Religion The highest priority in the school program is given to faith formation that is expressed in worship, religion classes and in everyday life. The religion teacher stresses that Christ is the foundation of spiritual life and strives to incorporate religious values, Christian principles, and Catholic traditions into the entire day. Virtues such as kindness, consideration, respect, and integrity are promoted. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy uses The Sadlier Religion Program.
Language Arts The Language Arts Program uses reading, storytelling, role playing, and more to help students learn readiness skills. Guest readers from the community are very active in helping us promote literacy. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy uses The Open Court Reading Program, which contains a language arts component.
Math Students are actively engaged in learning math skills through group activities, individualized instruction, and through centers. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Academy uses The Sadlier Progress in Math Program.
Social Studies and Science Students learn History, Geography, Economics, and Current Events through activities that are developmentally appropriate for their age level. Students learn General Sciences and participate in laboratory experiments that are developmentally appropriate for their age level.
Learning is enhanced through centers, computer programs, music, drama, dance, art, and educational videos. Students are instructed in a manner that will help them develop as life-long learners. Teaching strategies and activities promote academic progress, as well as allow for the development of socialization skills.
Physical Education The Physical Fitness/Health program is essential to our students’ overall well-being. The activities include “Pre-kinderobics” and “Kinderobics” as well as educational videos that teach good nutrition. Our goal is to help eliminate childhood obesity. All lessons and activities are developmentally appropriate.

Attendance: Arrival, Dismissal, and Tardiness Arrival: The breakfast program is available for all students. School begins each morning at 7:30a and all students are expected to be on time every day. Students may arrive as early as at 7:15a and should report to the cafeteria, where they will be supervised until they are picked up by their teacher at 7:30a to report to class. The Breakfast Program starts at 7:40a. Students will be brought back to the cafeteria by their teacher for breakfast. The breakfast line closes at 8:15a daily. Parents, who want their children to eat breakfast, must bring them to school on time. Parents may join their children for breakfast or lunch.
Dismissal: All students are expected to remain in school for the full day, which ends at 3:00p. Students should only be checked out of school early if there is an emergency.
Tardiness: All students are expected to be in school every day on time and must arrive no later than 8:30a. Students arriving later than 8:30a will not be allowed to check in at the office until the parent has met with Sr. John Mary to discuss their child’s tardiness.
PLEASE REMEMBER: The state requires every child to receive 360 minutes of instructional minutes daily. Bringing your child to school late or checking your child out early every day deprives him/her of the required instructional time. We appreciate your full cooperation in this very important matter.
Food Services: Breakfast and Lunch Program The breakfast program is available for all students. The lunch program begins at 11:00a. All children are required to have lunch daily and hot meals are available. All students are given a computer number that they need to memorize. Each student will be required to give that number at the lunch counter before exiting the lunch line. It is very important that parents pay for their child’s lunch on time. This may be done on a weekly or monthly basis. In the event that parents receive a bill for delinquent breakfast or lunch fees, it will be necessary for that bill to be paid immediately. Federal guidelines prohibit the Cafeteria Manager from serving lunch to students with delinquent lunch fees of more than two days. Parents would then be responsible for providing their child with lunch until the lunch bill is paid in full.
PLEASE NOTE: According to the Health Department Regulations and Federal Guidelines, the following must be adhered to daily: absolutely no fast food, candy or soft drinks are allowed in the cafeteria; there can be no sharing of food; igloos or such types of containers are not allowed
The dining room is considered a classroom to promote good eating habits and social skills. All students will eat lunch in the dining room. (Students may not bring glass containers, soft drinks, or candy). While in the dining room, students are expected to use the same manners required in the classroom. Courtesy toward other students and cooperation with teachers are in order at all times. Parents should not bring lunches from carry-out restaurants.
